My name is Richie Mann. I am the owner and manager of Turning Waters Bed, Breakfast and Adventure.
I was Minnesota grown, but always westerly bound. I graduated from Saint John's University in 2007 with a Film making and Communications B.A.
From that Spring 2007 forward, I have been wandering with purpose across the west and north of our great country. Wandering and wondering the many questions a young man should be asking of himself and of his fellow brother. I consider myself an open book with many dog-eared pages and an ending that hangs on the smoke rings from a pipe held in J.R.R Tolkien's hand. From Alaska to Northern MN. From Northern MN to Colorado. From Colorado back to Alaska. From Alaska to Southern Utah. From Utah back to Northern MN. From Northern MN to Wabasha, MN. I've seen some, but need more. Yet, I'm quite happy and feel the roots of a 27 year old grasping for some deep cool ground water, the kind for which you have to be willing to bury your toes. So with a backpack in my closet and a trail map on my desk, I welcome you into my new chapter:……………. Turning Waters Bed, Breakfast and Adventure.
Briefly, because you can get much more exciting information about me and the BBA on the rest of the website, Turning Waters is an adventured based B&B. I've been a guide, hunter and fisherman all my life and I bring you into the wild to feel the connections with the earth that need to be constantly renewed. From unique ice fishing, snow kiting and snow shoeing in the winter to backwater kayaking, trail biking and Mississippi bluff and valley hiking in the summer, and if this is all a bit much for you, then a tall glass of wine on my porch and a nice book in the library awaits!
Whatever your fancy, Its about making the most of your experience in life. And while you are here at Turning Waters BBA I encourage you to do just that. I've created an environment that I love and I hope you can take something from it and make it your own to satisfy your soul and spirit. I open my home to you.
