Wabasha, MN, 03/28/13 — We’ve all heard of mud runs, obstacle runs, zombie chases and the like, but how about a Grumpy Muddah? What makes this one different you ask, simple; It takes place at the very home of Grumpy Old Men (John and Max).

Coffee Mill Ski Area makes the perfect place to host an obstacle/mud run. The hills will make it difficult, but the 15 obstacles will be fun and exciting for everyone. As soon as the snow melts, Grumpy Muddah will post photos of the course map and obstacles.

Those who would like to participate can go to the Grumpy Muddah website and register online. Teams of 5 or more are eligible for a discount of five dollars per person. Interested persons can also contact the Wabasha-Kellogg Chamber & CVB office at 651-565-4158 and register via phone.

WABASHA, April 1, 2013 – This Sunday, April 7th, RJAC will screen the classic film SINGIN’ IN THE

RAIN, considered by many to be the finest musical comedy of all time. The film was directed by

Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen and stars Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’Connor.

Betty Comden and Adolph Green wrote this wonderful film about the time when movies

were changing from silent to talkies. The songs range from the hilarious “Make ‘Em Laugh”

performed by O’Connor, to the delicate “You Were Meant for Me” and the show-stopping

classic “Singin’ in the Rain” solo by Gene Kelly. Vincent Canby of the New York Times called

the film, “Extraordinarily exuberant, always youthful, and joyously indestructible. Enjoying

SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN has nothing to do with nostalgia or with sentimentality. It is simply stated,

a Hollywood masterpiece.”

The film was produced in 1952, runs 102 minutes, and screens at 2 p.m. at the Broadway

Theater in the Old Mittel Schule (Broadway at Hiawatha). Admission is free. For additional

Wabasha-Kellogg Chamber & CVB Offers New Social Membership Event: Art & Wine Night

Wabasha, MN, 03/28/13 — Before you invest time and money on going out this weekend, check out what the Wabasha-Kellogg Chamber & CVB is offering. On April 19 join the Wabasha-Kellogg Chamber & CVB at the Eagles Nest Coffee House, Wabasha, Minn. for an evening filled with art, wine and fun!

In an effort to make social membership more appealing, the W-K Chamber & CVB is offering more exciting social functions instead of just meetings and dinner. Hosted by Wine and Canvas (www.wineandcanvas.com), Art & Wine Night is open to anyone, social member or not. The cost to participate is $40 for non-chamber members and $35 for chamber members.

Those who would like to join in on the fun are provided all supplies needed, even an apron, canvas and paints.  Enjoy wine (or your favorite beverage) and the company of new friends and old ones on a Friday night instead of the usual stay at home or bar scene.
