Mel Sundby has been an artist since 1963. He earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa in 1969, and has pursued a life of teaching and making art since then. “When I took my first Art History class I knew I had found what I wanted to do”.
Mel’s retirement from Century College in Minnesota has given him opportunity to create and teach from his studio east of Eau Claire, WI.
“I think that when a person learns a craft, any craft, well enough to use it as a personal language, then the concept of art ensues”.
Mel’s work is available at his home gallery at Manyfires Art Studio and in a number of regional galleries. He has shown his work in many art exhibitions nationwide.
