Dear Art Enthusiast,
River Junctions Arts Council is asking for your support as a new or returning member in bringing art, in its many forms, to the Wabasha-Kellogg area. In these financially difficult times, it is good to know your RJAC dollars fund music, theater and art right here in Wabasha, bringing events to the area that often are only available in larger cities.
The 2009 RJAC season promises to be an exciting one– the popular Meet Me Under the Bridge concert series gets underway in June (the concerts are free, but donations are always appreciated); the children’s performers the Teddy Bear Band will be at Heritage Park in June; RJAC’s Down by the River Gallery will showcase local artists (including W-K students) throughout the year; the Literary Club will hold its first meeting in April; Prairie Fire Children’s Theater will perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream in August; and the new Broadway Theater will show the classics, independent films, and documentaries every Friday and Saturday. There’s a lot going on! Check the event insert for details, as well as www.rjac.org for updates.
The 2009 RJAC Membership Drive Event is right around the corner, as well. On April 24th at 7:00 p.m., musicians will play at the Eagle’s Nest Coffee House performing classical music, jazz and more. Pianist Carol Prescher and vocalist Natalie Thyren are just two of our big names. Wine and hors’ devours will be provided. The event is free with your paid membership.
RJAC funds its programs strictly through member donations. Without your support, RJAC could not fulfill its mission of bringing art, music and cultural activities to Wabasha. Please take a moment to fill out the enclosed membership card and return it with your check. Members will receive discounts on special events, as well e-mail reminders about upcoming events. Also, RJAC is looking for volunteers to assist with events and to take on leadership roles in organizing new programs; don’t hesitate to get involved! And if you are an artist, please add your name to RJAC’s registry (you do not need to be a professional artist to be included).
