In his new role, Conn will continue to support local businesses while taking on expanded leadership responsibilities within the organization.

Meet the Vikings at Castlerock

2025 Meet The Vikings - Wabasha-Kellogg Chamber &Amp;Amp; Cvb

Last year’s Vikings included Tom and Kitty Latane, Patrick Kelly, Sally Anderson, Terry Sorchy, Janet Runions, Jamie LaBreck, and Nancy Sorchy.

Want to learn more about the Vikings? Then visit Castlerock Museum in Alma, Wisconsin on Saturday, April 11th from 10am – 4pm for the museum’s annual “Meet the Vikings” event, a daylong celebration of all things “Viking.”

Reenactors will be on hand to answer questions about Viking history, culture, clothing, and weapons. There will be programs in the museum theater on Greenland in the Viking Age at 11am, Viking Clothing at 1pm, and Viking Weapons, Armor, and Tactics at 2pm. The latter will be followed by a shield wall demonstration, weather permitting. Ongoing demonstrations include flax weaving and woodworking. Visitors can also see several actual Viking era artifacts on display including a spangenhelm, chieftain’s sword, and Danish axe.

Rock and Soul at Wabasha’s Widespot April 11

Widespot Performing Arts Center is thrilled to offer an additional band to their spring lineup on April 11th with Jambalaya. This band combines talents from Minneapolis and Maiden Rock, WI to offer an outstanding mix of some funky rock music and chilling soul melodies. Think rock from Little Feat and the Allman Brothers with a mix of blues of Muscle Shoals and Memphis added. This group will drive you to your feet – our dance floor is ready!

Widespot’s remaining spring show will feature City Mouse on May 9th. Mankato’s City Mouse has been performing for thousands of fans in the Upper-Midwest for over fifty years. The current lineup has been playing together since 1986, playing a musical blend of country, bluegrass, country-rock, and five-part a cappella vocals. Instrumentation includes harp, electric guitar, piano, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drums, banjo and pedal steel.

Every member of City Mouse has been a finalist for a MN Music Award in various individual and group categories; the band was inducted into the MN Rock/Country Hall of Fame in 2007. WideSpot, the premiere entertainment venue in the Lake Pepin Region, is in Wabasha, Minnesota’s Broadway Theater at 611 Broadway Avenue in the historic Mittel Schule building. The venue is fully accessible and features auditorium seating, onsite parking, and a bar serving beer, wine, water and sodas. Showtime will be at 7 pm, with doors opening at 6:30 pm.

WideSpot is supported by a number of community sponsors, including the Queenan Foundation, the Wabasha-Kellogg Area Foundation and the Southeast Minnesota Arts Council whose activities are made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the MN State Arts Board thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
