In a time when doctors were scarce, pharmacies didn’t exist, and help could be miles away, frontier families had to rely on resilience, resourcefulness, and the medical knowledge of the day to survive. Learn about common illnesses, treatments, and how medicine of the past may not be as different from today as you think!
Sara Thielen, a Public Health Nurse with Buffalo County Public Health, combines her passion for nursing, local history, and Western Wisconsin to bring this unique topic to life.
