We love seeing Wabasha’s fall celebration getting some love from the Winona Post! Their latest story highlights the 19th Annual SeptOberfest and all the reasons to make a trip to the Wabasha-Kellogg area this fall. 🍁🎃

Sky watchers, next week is giving us THREE reasons to look up over the Wabasha-Kellogg area! 🍂🌕🪐 And the best part? No telescope required.
🍂☀️ TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 — FALL EQUINOX
It’s officially fall! 🍁 Astronomical fall begins at 7:05 PM, making tonight a perfect excuse to watch the sunset. Around the equinox, the Sun rises almost exactly due east and sets almost exactly due west.
🌕🌾 SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 — HARVEST MOON
This one could be a beauty! The Harvest Moon reaches its full phase earlier in the day, then rises over the eastern horizon around 6:45 PM.
Full moons can look especially big, golden and orange when they’re low on the horizon — and with the Mississippi River and Lake Pepin as our backdrop, we may have some incredible photo opportunities. 📸
🌕🪐 SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 — MOON MEETS SATURN
The show continues Sunday night! Look east/northeast after about 8 PM for the nearly full Moon, then look nearby for a bright, steady, slightly golden “star.” That’s Saturn!
They’ll be about 7° apart, making them an easy pair to spot with the naked eye. And if you DO have a telescope, Sunday night is a great excuse to pull it out and take a closer look at Saturn. 🪐🔭

That’s a pretty spectacular week for Eyes on the Sky! 👀✨
We may be a little biased, but there aren’t many better places to watch the sky than right here in the Wabasha-Kellogg area. 💙
