We already know you know this about us—we are HUGE supporters and lovers of our Wabasha-Kellogg School District #811! Falcon Pride runs pretty deep around here. 💙🤍
So we absolutely LOVE that the VFW Post 4086, Wabasha, MN’s Friday Night Meat Raffles throughout October will benefit the Wabasha-Kellogg High School Choir! 🎶
And here’s a little personal tidbit from behind the Chamber curtain: all of our kids were choir kids. ❤️ There aren’t too many events in our household that don’t include someone breaking into song at some point. 😂 So seeing organizations in our community step up to support a program that brings music, confidence, friendship and so much JOY to our students hits especially close to home. Our motto at our house? “Where words fail, music speaks.” 🎵

We leave SVJ Creative Designs alone for FIVE MINUTES and apparently they’ve already made first contact. 👽🍂

🍂💙 We never tire of seeing our beautiful driftless area through the eyes of visitors! 💙🍂
The Gazette recently took readers on a trip around beautiful Lake Pepin, and guess where writer Lori Erickson chose as her home base for the adventure?
📍 City of Wabasha, MN! 🙌
The article, “Circling Lake Pepin Between Minnesota and Wisconsin,” follows a leisurely 70-mile loop around this incredible widening of the Mississippi River—and it’s basically a love letter to our little corner of the world.
Starting in Wabasha, Erickson highlights our walkable downtown and riverfront, the National Eagle Center and our connection to Grumpy Old Men before heading north along Highway 61.
From there, the journey includes Lake City and the birthplace of water skiing, the breathtaking overlooks at Frontenac State Park, historic Red Wing, and then across the river to Wisconsin’s Great River Road, Stockholm and those beautiful wooded bluffs before circling right back to Wabasha.
And we especially loved this advice: don’t rush it. ❤️
Stop at the overlooks. Wander through the small towns. Eat the pie. Watch the sailboats. Look for eagles. Enjoy the river.
Because that really IS the best way to experience the Driftless.
🍁 And with fall colors arriving, we can’t think of a better time to take the long way around.
