We're thrilled to see the completion of the library's remarkable three-year "Instilling a Sense of Place" mural project featured in the Winona Post.
What began as a simple need to refresh the walls became something much more—a beautiful, collaborative effort honoring Wabasha's past, present, and future. Through the vision and dedication of local artist Sue Mundy, along with the contributions of library staff, historians, educators, community organizations, and Indigenous voices, the library has created an experience that celebrates the stories and natural beauty that make Wabasha so special.
From our Dakota heritage and historic river town roots to the migratory birds that grace our skies, these murals tell the story of a community deeply connected to its people and place.
A special congratulations to the staff of the City of Wabasha, MN Public Library and to Sue Mundy for investing hundreds of hours and so much heart into this extraordinary project. ❤️
