Design Electric Inc.'s crew is hard at work on the new Waite Park Public Safety Facility—a massive 75,000-square-foot remodel and addition. 🚒🚓🏢
The project began last summer, and now the team is working through the finishing stages as they head toward completion this fall.
We love getting a behind-the-scenes look at the projects our Chamber members are working on both near and far—and seeing their talent, expertise, and hard work making an impact in other communities!

🪐 TUESDAY — Set that alarm and get up early to look for Jupiter in the morning sky, then get moving at Fit City Exercise Class!
🥕 WEDNESDAY — It’s Senior Day at Fresh Market — be sure to ask for your discount at checkout! Plus, shop the Wabasha Farmers Market and catch the Kellogg City Council Meeting.
🥧 THURSDAY — IT’S PIE DAY at Town & Country Café! And really, what better excuse to indulge after Fit City Exercise Class, Story Time, Connections Café, Yoga Class AND Bar Bingo?! You earned that pie. 😂
🍉 FRIDAY — HERE WE GO! The 80th Annual Kellogg Watermelon Festival officially gets rolling! Add in meat raffles at both the VFW and BJ’s and you’ve got yourself a Friday night!
🏆🍉 SATURDAY — WATERMELON FEST CONTINUES! And apparently we’ve decided to make this the unofficial Tournament Day of the area. 😂

🦅🏈 SUNDAY — One more day of Watermelon Festival fun! It’s also Grandparents Day at the National Eagle Center, where grandparents receive FREE admission, plus Sunday Funday AND our first BORDER BATTLE of the NFL season! 💜💛

Flags of Valor will be flown throughout Kellogg all weekend ❤️🤍💙, Coffee Mill Golf Course is still open, the River Book Walk is delightful, the Wabasha County Historical Society is open, weekly worship services are happening throughout the area, and there are plenty of Happy Hours waiting for you!
👕 And here’s your challenge for the week: REP YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL SPOT! Restaurants, bars, boutiques, attractions and businesses throughout the area have some pretty great merch. Grab a hat, shirt, sweatshirt or whatever catches your eye and wear your local pride!

❤️ THIS. This is community.
You’ve heard us say it before, but when we saw this post from St. Felix School - Wabasha, Mn, we couldn’t help but say it again.
How fortunate are we that the Wabasha-Kellogg area is able to offer families different educational opportunities right here in our community? For an area our size, having both strong public and private school options is something worth appreciating—and each plays its own important role in the fabric of our community.
But what really caught our attention in this post is something else we see time and time again in Wabasha-Kellogg: people stepping up.
When a local business owner sees a need and quietly says, “I can help with that,” that’s community.
Paul Busch’s generosity to St. Felix is a wonderful example of a local person investing back into the place we all call home. It’s neighbors supporting neighbors, businesses supporting organizations, and people using what they have to make our entire community a little stronger.
We love getting to share stories like this. ❤️

Paul Busch has gratiously donated to pay for the phone upgrade, switchboard, firewall, and new phones that the school desperately needed. Paul had a chance last week to see the new phones.
We want to thank Safety 1st Playground and maintenance out of Golden Valley for the significant discount for the mulch that was used to beautify our school grounds.
We also want to thank Larry Stenzel for his lead on both of these projects and coordinating the efforts.
Thank you to all those who have donated and supported St. Felix. We keep all of you in our prayers!!

⚔️ Step back in time at Castlerock Arms and Armor Museum! ⚔️
Looking for something a little different to do next weekend? Our friends at Castlerock Museum in Alma are bringing Civil War history to life!

⏰ 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Reenactors from the 2nd Minnesota Battery of Light Artillery will be on hand for a special day of living history — including a full-size replica of a Model 1861 ten-pounder Parrott Rifle! 💥
Visitors can learn about Civil War artillery, soldiers’ daily lives, shells and flags, period music and games, historic firearms and more. You’ll even find a special display of quilts created using period patterns and reproduction fabrics.
And while you’re there, be sure to explore the Civil War display in Castlerock Museum’s new American galleries!

Museum members receive a $2 discount.
