Gundersen St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and Clinics

Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center is a progressive, multi-disciplinary rural health care organization offering a wide range of services on two campuses in Wabasha, Minnesota. Saint Elizabeth’s is licensed for 31 acute care beds, 120 skilled long-term care beds, and 44 assisted-living apartments.

Our mission is to continually improve the health and well-being of all people, especially the poor, in the communities we serve. This is accomplished by living out our four core values of service, vision, presence and justice. The staff and volunteers of Saint Elizabeth’s provide acute care, diagnostic, educational, emergency, home care, long-term care, outreach and specialty services in partnership with the medical staff, three regional clinics and other health care providers.

Our consulting and courtesy medical staff represents many specialties including general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry, radiology and urology. These physicians are affiliated with healthcare facilities located throughout the region.

Gundersen St. Elizabeth’s Care Center

St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Facility Long-term care services are provided at Saint Elizabeth’s Nursing Home, located on the main campus, and at Saint Elizabeth’s Health Care Center, located at 626 Shields Avenue. Skilled nursing care, rehabilitation services, recreational therapy, social services, and a variety of support programs and services are provided to residents and their families in a caring and comfortable environment.

Alzheimer’s Care:
St. Ann’s – a 30-bed unit specializing in the care of residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia disorders – is located at Saint Elizabeth’s Health Care Center. Our staff understands the special needs of these residents and provides compassionate, personalized care.

Alzheimer’s Support Group: 
The Alzheimer’s Support Group is held monthly on the second Thursday of every month at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Elizabeth’s Health Care Center. This program is offered as a free service to the community.

Assisted/Independent Living: 
Saint Elizabeth’s Apartments are specially designed to meet the varying needs of elderly residents. Independent and assisted living housing and services are tailored to the individual needs of each resident. Spacious, comfortable apartments and welcoming common areas offer a pleasing and homelike setting. Affordable monthly rates include three nutritious meals daily, weekly housekeeping, most utilities and recreational activities. Optional services also are provided for an additional fee.
