We are excited to share that our CTE Department took 1st place and brought home a $10,000 grant from FutureForward™ as part of the Minnesota Service Cooperative CTE Pathway Growth Initiative!
FutureForward™ Impact Grants support robust CTE experiences for students in grades 5-12, with a focus on equipping students with the career and college readiness skills employers are looking for.
CTE Instructor, Tyler Heimermann had just 5 minutes to deliver our pitch to approximately 88 attendees, presenting alongside four other schools. Our proposal highlighted our School-Based Enterprise (SBE) – a student-run business within our school.
Through SBE, students won’t just learn about business – they’ll run one.
Our presentation emphasized:
– Strong community and industry partnerships
– Creating real-world pathways for students after graduation
– Providing resume-ready experiences
– Building a sustainable program that generates revenue to expand opportunities and challenges for students
The $10,000 will be used for equipment and startup materials to launch this exciting initiative.
This achievement was truly a team effort by our entire CTE & Business Department.
Our big statement says it best:
“Students don’t just learn business – they run one!”
