Come for one or both: a movement workshop featuring traditional Eastern European dances, and a concert featuring Balkan music and stories! 10-11am: Nicolle will lead a small group of movers through a dynamic movement class exploring rhythm and traditional dance steps with time for free movement. We will begin by exploring stylistic movements and gestures commonly found in traditional Balkan dancing, and alternate between freedom of expression and group choreographed circle dances to the unique sounds and rhythms. Accessible for beginners. Movers age 12+ for the workshop. 11:30am-12:30pm Nicolle will perform a concert featuring music and stories from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Turkey, Greece, Albania, Hungary, and beyond, on accordion and Macedonian tambura (a traditional stringed instrument) all which highlight and accompany her primary instrument, her voice. Kids are welcome to come with a paid adult, for $5 suggested donation at the door. Tickets: $15 for movement workshop, $15 for concert, $25 both View Facebook Event
