Making the Mississippi Over Again: Building Wing Dams on the Upper Mississippi River
Sunday, Oct. 11th at 2 p.m. Wabasha County Historical Society Museum: 70537 206th Avenue Reads Landing, MN 55968 Director and Curator, Abigail Hall, will share an overview of the museum’s newest display panels, Making the Mississippi Over Again: Building Wing Dams on the Upper Mississippi River. In addition, Abigail will share newspaper research and background information that provides insight into why wing dams were constructed, the challenges faced by those building them, and the efforts to make the Mississippi River more navigable.
