February 14th, California based jazz trumpeter and showman, Jeff Bordes brings his New Orleans inspired revue to the Widespot. This show offers a collaboration of Bordes and Driftless Region favorites, Sue Orfield (Tenor Sax) and Faith Ulwelling (vocals) accompanied by local drums and bass artists.     Kick up your St. Patrick’s Day spirit for an Irish and Celtic concert with Four Pints Shy. This seven-member band features tremendous harmonies, great musicianship and some regrettable jokes. They will put you in the mood for fun and shenanigans! The band has been playing together for almost two decades, entertaining folks at the Renaissance Festival and St. Patty’s Day celebrations.

  • Monroe Crossing

    If you are not acquainted with bluegrass music, Monroe Crossing loves introducing newcomers to bluegrass music!Monroe Crossing performs an electrifying blend of classic, gospel, original bluegrass and some surprising selections outside the bluegrass genre. Named in honor of Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music, Monroe Crossing’s superb musicianship and on-stage rapport have entertained audiences through the US, Canada and Europe.The band has four distinct personalities with differing musical backgrounds. When combined, their individual histories make a unique sound. The three original members are Mark Anderson (bass), Lisa Fuglie (fiddle and lead vocals) joined in 2011. The group utilizes a cadre of very talented banjo players, all of whom are alumni of the group.With 17 released albums to date, Monroe Crossing has been recognized world wide wih awards, including being inducted into the MN Music Hall of Fame in 2007.Whether playing bluegrass or material outside the game, Monroe Crossing is one of the most entertaining acts in bluegrass today.

  • City Mouse

    A Mankato based band, City Mouse has been playing for fans in the Upper Midwest for over fifty years. The group has opened for The Beach Boys, Robert Cray, Little Feat, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and many more. The current lineup of seasoned players has been playing together since 1986, playing a musical blend of country, bluegrass, country-rock, blues and five-part a cappella vocals. The lineup consists of Billy Steiner (harp, electric guitar and vocals), Dale Haefner (piano), Ron Arsenault, (acoustic guitar and vocals), Dave Pengra (bass guitar and vocals), Mike Pengra (drums and vocals) and Tim Waters (vocals, electric guitar, banjo and pedal steel). Every member of City Mouse has been a finalist for a MN Music Award in various individual and group categories. City Mouse was inducted into the MN Rock/Country Hall of Fame in 2007.
